Baseball Recap: Swanton Comes Up Short

Swanton and Liberty-Benton squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Swanton had to settle for second. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Carson Bond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, Swanton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Marlow, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Carsen Lemons was another, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Swanton's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Liberty-Benton, they pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

As of now, neither Swanton nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
