Soccer Recap: Nogales Comes Up Short

Nogales lost against Sunnyside back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Nogales Apaches lost 8-0 to the Sunnyside Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Apaches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Blue Devils are ranked second).

Nogales has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Sunnyside, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Nogales will head out on the road to square off against Desert View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert View will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Nogales surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sunnyside, they will welcome Rincon/University at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season.
