Sulphur Springs is a perfect 7-0 against Pittsburg since September of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats will take on the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. Sulphur Springs is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Sulphur Springs earned a 3-1 win over Pleasant Grove.

Sulphur Springs got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 31-29, 25-16, 25-15.

Sulphur Springs found their leader in sophomore Peyton Taylor, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Sulphur Springs was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Pittsburg came up short against North Lamar on Friday and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 18-25, 25-11.

Pittsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Sulphur Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 23-8.

Sulphur Springs skirted past Pittsburg 3-2 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
