Baseball Recap: Western Wayne Takes a Loss

Western Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Dallas Mountaineers, falling 21-7.

Jamie Chapman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Quinn Swartz was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Western Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Dallas, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Western Wayne didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 victory against Wyoming Area on the 19th. As for Dallas, they will take on Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Mountaineers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
