Softball Recap: Tri Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Daleville typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Tri proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 9-6. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won seven in a row.

Macey Ballard made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylan Mathews, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lyla Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Tri's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. As for Daleville, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7.

Looking ahead, Tri will venture away from home to take on Union City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Daleville, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-3 loss against Cowan on the 20th.
