Football Recap: Fredericksburg Piles Up the Points Against Uvalde

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fredericksburg). They blew past the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls), posting a 31-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Billies also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Fredericksburg's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kress Mohr, who threw for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 52 yards and one TD. Aaron Cantu was another key back, rushing for 122 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

The win made it two in a row for Fredericksburg and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 10 points in those games. As for Uvalde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Fredericksburg will face off against rival Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Uvalde is set to square off against their familiar foe Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
