Softball Recap: Lincoln Charter Triumphs

After losing to Metrolina Christian Academy the last time they met, Lincoln Charter decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lincoln Charter Eagles came out on top against the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors by a score of 8-4 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Mia Hammond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Patterson, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Leah Lyerly was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Lincoln Charter now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Lincoln Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against Corvian Community on the 7th. Metrolina Christian Academy has also already played their next contest (against Charlotte Country Day School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
