Basketball Recap: Jemison Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Jemison won the last time they faced Montevallo, and Zariyah Johnson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Jemison Panthers took down the Montevallo Bulldogs 52-35 on Thursday thanks in part to Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed six or more in the last seven games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Bean, who posted ten points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Jemison is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Montevallo, they are on a 19-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jemison won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Demopolis at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Montevallo, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Shelby County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
