Preview: Aquinas Institute vs. Edison Tech/School Without Walls

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Aquinas Institute. They will take on Edison Tech/School Without Walls at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Aquinas Institute strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 39.86 points per game.

In almost any game, 49 points would all but guarantee a win. Not in this one. Aquinas Institute got past St. Francis with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 55-49. Junior Ruben Torres and sophomore Tyler Szalkowski were among the main playmakers for Aquinas Institute as the former rushed for 186 yards and 1 touchdown and the latter passed for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Edison Tech/School Without Walls were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their matchup against Wilson Magnet last Saturday. Edison Tech/School Without Walls have to be aching after a bruising 6-32 loss to Wilson Magnet. Edison Tech/School Without Walls' defeat continues a disappointing trend for the squad, making it five losses in a row.

Aquinas Institute's victory lifted them to 6-1 while Edison Tech/School Without Walls's defeat dropped them down to 1-6. We'll find out if Aquinas Institute can add another positive mark to their record or if Edison Tech/School Without Walls can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Aquinas Institute's step.
