Preview: Carver Challengers vs. Harlan Falcons
The Carver Challengers will head out on the road to face off against the Harlan Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Carver's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
Carver posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 62-33 win over Corliss at home. Given Carver's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Corliss is ranked 688th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Harlan suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 64-37 defeat at the hands of Fenger. Harlan has not had much luck with Fenger recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Carver pushed their record up to 11-8 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Harlan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Carver was dealt a bruising 76-30 loss at the hands of Harlan when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can Carver avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
