Basketball Game Preview: Salina Central Mustangs vs. Andover Central Jaguars

Salina Central is 2-8 against Andover Central since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Salina Central Mustangs will be playing at home against the Andover Central Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Salina Central is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were outmatched by Andover and fell 68-41. Salina Central will have to contain Jace Jefferson as he made an impact in Andover Central's last game. He went 6 for 15 to rack up 16 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Jefferson a new career-high in steals. Jayden Brown was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.

Andover Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Salina Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Salina Central and Andover Central were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but Salina Central came up empty-handed after a 62-61 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brown, who went 13 of 25 on his way to 37 points and six rebounds.
