Football Recap: Mogollon Mustangs vs. Hayden Lobos
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mogollon can now relate to. They fell 48-38 to the Hayden Lobos on Friday. Despite 124 more yards than the Lobos, the Mustangs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the loss, Mogollon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jett Reidhead rushed for 101 yards and two scores, and also threw for 280 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. Yovanni Suarez also helped out with an impressive 158 receiving yards.
Kino Lorona produced another solid effort rushing for 185 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries for Hayden. Lorona has been hot for a while, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last 18 times he's played. Another rusher making a difference was Tyler Garner, who gained 89 total yards and two touchdowns.
