The Joliet Central Steelmen will head out on the road to face off against the Plainfield East Bengals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Joliet Central is ranked 398th, while Plainfield East is ranked 376th).
On Tuesday, Joliet Central came up short against Joliet West and fell 57-48. Joliet Central has struggled against Joliet West recently, as their game on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Plainfield East was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Plainfield Central 76-43 on the road.
Plainfield East's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Anna Jenkins, who scored 20 points, and Lexi Sepulveda, who scored 26 points. The contest was Sepulveda's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Thompson, who scored 9 points.
Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Plainfield East, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
