Basketball Recap: Sterlin Lewis Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

Perry Meridian's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 67-57 win over the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

Perry Meridian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sterlin Lewis out in front who went 5 for 8 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Devante Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.

Perry Meridian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

With the win, Perry Meridian broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Perry Meridian will venture away from home to square off against Ben Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ben Davis will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Perry Meridian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they will host Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
