Softball Recap: Howe Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Howe can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They never let the Leonard Tigers get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-13 back in March.

Riley McCollum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. McCollum was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamry Snapp, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Mya Burt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Howe's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Leonard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Howe will face off against rival Pottsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leonard is set to square off against their familiar foe Blue Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
