It was a good run, but Hazel Green unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Hoover Buccaneers by a score of 2-1. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Buccaneers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lily Nelson paced Hazel Green's offense, picking up seven kills. Nelson really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight.

Hoover was led to victory by Cheyenne Conner and Addison Jenkins. Conner had 22 digs and two assists, while Jenkins had 18 assists and five digs. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Hazel Green's loss dropped their record down to 27-8. As for Hoover, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-17 record this season.

Hazel Green wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Montgomery Academy on the 4th. As for Hoover, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Homewood on the 3rd.
