It's playoff time, and Albemarle had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 79-35 victory over the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 23 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Uwharrie Charter Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kayla Brown posted ten points and five rebounds. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Lainey Thomas was another key player, putting up ten points.

Albemarle pushed their record up to 25-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points on average over those games. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-8.

Looking ahead, Albemarle will head out to take on Cherokee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Albemarle surely won't give up without a fight. Uwharrie Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
