Basketball Recap: Mustafa Taylor Key Part of Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

McCluer South-Berkeley won against KIPP last Thursday with 52 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The McCluer South-Berkeley Bulldogs walked away with a 52-42 win over the Roosevelt Roughriders. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won three in a row.

McCluer South-Berkeley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mustafa Taylor, who en route to 23 points and four steals. What's more, Taylor posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lamar Mccoy, who had ten points and seven steals.

McCluer South-Berkeley's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Roosevelt, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

McCluer South-Berkeley and Roosevelt could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. McCluer South-Berkeley will face off against Lutheran North at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 410 places (552 vs. 142). McCluer South-Berkeley is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Similarly, Roosevelt (ranked 460th) will meet Confluence Prep Academy (ranked 208th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
