Softball Recap: Creekside Gets the Win

Baldwin typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Creekside proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Indians, sneaking past 3-1. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 7-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Carly Dall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Creekside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Madison Muniz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Creekside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Baldwin, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekside will take on Orange Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.65 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Baldwin, they will challenge Middleburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
