King George extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 11-5 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eastern View Cyclones a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Foxes have posted since April 10th.

The result came thanks to Kelsea Minter's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

As for Eastern View, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-2 record. The match marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Eastern View's side, Cailin Rendell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 15 Ks.

At the plate, Eastern View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kierstin Settle, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Settle's first of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King George will take on Caroline at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Foxes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Eastern View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spotsylvania at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Cyclones' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
