Baseball Recap: Otay Ranch Wins Going Away Against Morse

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Otay Ranch). They put the hurt on the Morse Tigers with a sharp 9-2 win on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Otay Ranch got a great performance from Sebastian Magana as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aidan Galicia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Fernando Tovalin, who scored a run.

The win made it two in a row for Otay Ranch and bumps their season record up to 4-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Morse, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Coming up, Otay Ranch will head out on the road to challenge Clairemont at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Clairemont will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Otay Ranch surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morse, they will face off against West Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
