Soccer Recap: Maricopa Finds Home Pitch Redemption Against Central

There's no place like home for Maricopa, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over the Central Bobcats on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rams needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

They hit Central with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alanee Calderon (2), Ulissa Garcia, Nevaeh Poland, and Atiya Hasan.

Maricopa's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

After both having extra time off, Maricopa and Poston Butte will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Central, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Youngker at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
