Baseball Game Preview: King Brahmas vs. Calallen Wildcats

King hasn't had much luck against Calallen recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Brahmas will take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. King has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

King is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Robstown, falling 15-4.

Jordan Villarreal was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. Brayden Milton also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Tuloso-Midway typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Calallen proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Warriors & Cherokees with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Calallen also got a great performance from Collier Carroll as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Carroll has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Lynch, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Dallin DeBellas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Calallen's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.

King suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Calallen in their previous matchup on April 1st. Can the Brahmas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
