Football Game Preview: Killingly Trailbazers vs. Griswold Wolverines + Official Tickets

The Killingly Trailbazers will venture away from home to take on the Griswold Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Killingly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Griswold likes a good challenge.

Killingly is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Fitch: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Trailbazers blew the Falcons out of the water with a 57-16 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trailbazers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Falcons are ranked 66th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Killingly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayden Allard, who rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Allard is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Joseph Mackie was another key back, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.

Meanwhile, Griswold hadn't done well against Ledyard recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way back in September. The Wolverines' defense stepped up to hand the Colonels a 14-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Killingly's record now sits at 6-0. As for Griswold, their record is now 2-0.

Everything came up roses for Killingly against Griswold when the teams last played back in September of 2022, as the team secured a 49-6 win. In that contest, the Trailbazers amassed a halftime lead of 42-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
