Basketball Game Preview: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Delta Panthers

The Fossil Ridge SaberCats will challenge the Delta Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Fossil Ridge against Eaton as the squad secured a 56-29 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-3.

Fossil Ridge's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Gianna Leone, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards, and Elli Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Leone continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Wale, who posted ten points.

Fossil Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Delta put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Eaton with points to spare, taking the game 47-28.

Delta's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Fossil Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
