Softball Recap: Taylor Triumphs

Taylor took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Orangewood Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats skirted past the Rams 14-13.

Kendall Miller was incredible, going 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Caydence Hassell, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Taylor hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orangewood Christian struck out seven times.

Taylor's record now sits at 9-10. As for Orangewood Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Taylor will square off against DeLand at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Orangewood Christian, they will head out to challenge Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
