Baseball Game Preview: Sequoyah Eagles vs. Sperry Pirates

The Sequoyah Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Sperry Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sperry took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sequoyah, who comes in off a win.

Sequoyah's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They didn't even let Westville on the board, marking Sequoyah's second-straight 14-0 shutout. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Sperry unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Berryhill on Saturday, falling 12-0.

Sequoyah came out on top in a nail-biter against Sperry in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 14-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sequoyah since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
