Softball Game Preview: Holton Red Devils vs. Greenville Yellow Jackets

Sparta hit Holton with a six-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils came up short against the Spartans, falling 11-1. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

15 must be Greenville's lucky number: they beat Allendale with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Yellow Jackets beat the Falcons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-5. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Greenville and bumps their season record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Holton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
