Basketball Recap: Logan Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Logan extended their home winning streak to ten games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Desta Rose. The Logan Longhorns had just enough and edged the Dora Coyotes out 53-51 thanks in part to Rose, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Logan's points.

Marilyn Moreno was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Logan's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Dora, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Corona/Vaughn at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Corona/Vaughn's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Logan's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Dora, they will take on Gateway Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
