Baseball Game Preview: Little Miami Panthers vs. Lakota East Thunderhawks

The Little Miami Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Lakota East Thunderhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Little Miami will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Monday, Little Miami got the win against Walnut Hills by a conclusive 12-2.

Cam Fox spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Basta, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jackson Reynolds was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Loveland hit Lakota East with a six-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderhawks came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-4. The Thunderhawks haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Little Miami's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Lakota East, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

Little Miami couldn't quite finish off Lakota East when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
