Basketball Game Preview: Hemingford Bobcats vs. South Platte Blue Knights

The Hemingford Bobcats will take on the South Platte Blue Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Hemingford easily dispatched Crawford on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Hemingford fell just short of Cody-Kilgore by a score of 56-53 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bobcats have suffered since December 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, South Platte hadn't done well against Garden County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. South Platte secured a 42-37 W over Garden County.

South Platte's win came from a few key players Hemingford will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Quinten Koenen, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Jacobs, who put up eight points and six boards.

South Platte has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Hemingford, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
