Softball Recap: Buckingham Extends Winning Streak to Two

Buckingham hadn't done well against Randolph-Henry recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Statesmen a 14-0 shutout. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win made it two in a row for Buckingham and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Randolph-Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Buckingham is set to square off against their familiar foe Nottoway at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Randolph-Henry will face off against rival Lunenburg Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
