Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Lake Oconee Academy

There's no place like home for Lake Oconee Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Towns County Indians on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-52 back in December of 2024.

Lake Oconee Academy was led to victory by Canon Mullen and Torin Maddox. Mullen posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Maddox had 14 points. Cole Sandoval was another key player, putting up seven points.

Lake Oconee Academy pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Towns County, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Oconee Academy will host Savannah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Towns County, they will take on Highlands at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
