Baseball Recap: William Blount Takes a Loss

William Blount was the 18-4 winner over Maryville when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Governors came up short against the Red Rebels on Monday, falling 14-7.

William Blount has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Maryville, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

William Blount and Maryville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Governors will face off against Hardin Valley Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (79 vs. 11). Meanwhile, Maryville (ranked 72nd) will meet Bearden (ranked 12th) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
