Wheaton North and Glenbard West squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Wheaton North had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 2-1. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Mary Kate Whittington paced Wheaton North's offense, picking up eight kills. Whittington got some help from Emily Rochford and her 15 assists. Rochford was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Wheaton North's defeat dropped their record down to 22-15. As for Glenbard West, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-9 record this season.

Wheaton North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glenbard West, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against St. Charles North on the 4th.
