Football Recap: West Brunswick Trojans vs. North Brunswick Scorpions        
        
		
             West Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They received a  blow  as they fell  38-19 to the North Brunswick Scorpions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the  51-13 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2023.
 West Brunswick's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Josiah Borton, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 156 yards and a touchdown.  Joseph Hamric was  Borton's top target, picking up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.
  Jonah Campbell had an outrageously good game for North Brunswick as he rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Those 109  rushing yards gave  Campbell a new career-high.  Chris Webb was  Campbell's top target, picking up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 West Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for North Brunswick, their record now sits at 5-3.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Brunswick will welcome New Hanover  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. New Hanover's defense has only allowed 14.1  points per game  this season, so West Brunswick's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for North Brunswick, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Laney  at 7:00  p.m. Laney is coming into the  game with four straight  defeats on the road,  meaning North Brunswick will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  victory.
