The biggest upset of the week belonged to Holy Spirit, who took down 42nd ranked Egg Harbor Township, 17-3.
St. Joseph extended the longest winning streak in Cape-Atlantic - American this week by beating St. Augustine Prep, 42-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Wildcats.
St. Joseph's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Anthony Giagunto threw for 117 and one touchdown and Miles Pease had 34 yards receiving. On the ground Rocco Ordille chipped in 139 yards. C.J. LaFragola helped St. Joseph's passing attack out by catching three balls for 27 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Giagunto and Cody Sampson Paul Sacco's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Giagunto leads the league in passing with 571 yards, while Sampson has rushed for 706 yards this season. The Eagles' Hajilik Smith leads the league in receiving yards with 150 on 15 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Absegami takes on Atlantic City. The Braves are in third place, while the Vikings are in second place.
Absegami was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Hammonton. Dennis Scuderi's team came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
