It was a proper cat-fight when Celina challenged Van Alstyne on Friday. The Bobcats blew past the Panthers 7-0. Considering the Bobcats have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Celina is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Van Alstyne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

Celina and Van Alstyne could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bobcats (ranked 162nd) will meet Lovejoy (ranked 34th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Van Alstyne will take on Krum at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (564 vs. 238).
