Recap: Edison Red Raiders vs. Coral Gables Cavaliers
After flying high against the Jackson Generals last Wednesday, the Edison Red Raiders came back down to earth. Edison ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-32 walloping at the hands of Coral Gables on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Edison has suffered yet this season.
Coral Gables' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamariya Dekle, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dekle has scored all season. Veronica Trueba was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Edison's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Coral Gables, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-14.
Edison will challenge North Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Miami is on a three-game streak of home wins, Edison a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Coral Gables will take on South Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. South Miami is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
