Reynoldsburg is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Central Crossing a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Reynoldsburg Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Central Crossing Comets at 5:00 p.m. Reynoldsburg has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Friday just wasn't the day for Reynoldsburg's offense. They lost 15-0 to Westerville North on Friday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Crossing). They never let Briggs get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Monday. The Comets have beaten the Bruins the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bruins has come to flipping the script.
Preston Carter made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Central Crossing: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-19 otherwise.
In other batting news, Central Crossing got a massive performance out of Robert Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Taylor has posted since back in April of 2024. Kyle Richardson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Central Crossing was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Reynoldsburg's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Central Crossing, their win bumped their record up to 5-20.
Reynoldsburg took their victory against Central Crossing when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
