Football Recap: Calvert Hall Takes Down Ranked Loyola Blakefield

Calvert Hall faced Loyola Blakefield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cardinals secured a 28-24 W over the Dons. The Cardinals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Several Dons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlos Spencer, who threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 39 yards and one TD. A healthy portion of Spencer's aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Logan Furst, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Calvert Hall and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Loyola Blakefield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Calvert Hall nor Loyola Blakefield have any future games scheduled.
