Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Panthers vs. St. Labre Indian Catholic Braves

The Jefferson Panthers will square off against the St. Labre Indian Catholic Braves at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Jefferson beat Lone Peak 57-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Wyatt Geier was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 6-for-8 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in field goal percentage (75%). Kellen Meredith was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, St. Labre Indian Catholic extended their postseason success last Saturday against Lame Deer. They pulled ahead with a 70-69 photo finish over the Morning Stars.

St. Labre Indian Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Jefferson came up short against St. Labre Indian Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2015, falling 54-47. Can Jefferson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
