Recap: West Carteret Patriots vs. Swansboro Pirates
The West Carteret Patriots won the last time they faced the Swansboro Pirates, and things went their way on Monday too. West Carteret simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Swansboro 49-21 at home. The result was nothing new for West Carteret, who have now won four matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
West Carteret's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Hewitt led the charge by throwing for 405 yards and four touchdowns. Jasiah Jones was another key contributor, picking up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Swansboro still got an impressive performance from Amare Caines, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for West Carteret and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-3 Richlands and 5-4 West Carteret. As for Swansboro, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
West Carteret does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Swansboro is also done with their season.
