Basketball Recap: Gardendale Takes a Loss

After flying high against Jefferson Christian Academy last Tuesday, Gardendale came back down to earth. The Gardendale Rockets took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hueytown Golden Gophers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-72 back in November of 2024.

Gardendale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Hueytown, their victory bumped their record up to 8-16.

Gardendale and Hueytown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Gardendale (ranked 174th) will meet Pinson Valley (ranked 29th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hueytown will challenge Helena at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 89 places (137 vs. 48).
