Softball Recap: Waynedale Victorious

Waynedale's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Dalton Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Golden Bears: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Wednesday, they had to take a 11-10 loss.

Madi Miller was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Carleigh Lynch was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Waynedale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in five consecutive games.

Waynedale's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Dalton, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Waynedale will face off against West Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Bears are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Dalton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rittman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
