Volleyball Recap: Carter Comes Up Short

Carter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Arroyo Valley Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Arroyo Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alahna Sanchez led the charge by getting 23 digs and four aces. Sanchez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Monserrat Arredondo was another key player, getting five digs and one block.

Carter's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Arroyo Valley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6.

Carter has already played their next contest (against Bloomington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Arroyo Valley, they will head out to challenge Colton at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
