Game recap: Parkview leaps out of the gate in victory over Waynesville

Parkview (Springfield, Mo.) jumped out to an early lead against Waynesville (Mo.) and never looked back on the way to a 55-14 victory on Saturday.

The Vikings put up 20 points in the opening frame. Parkview scored on a touchdown pass by Landan Ruff to Connor Ratcliff, a touchdown, a touchdown run by Cole Jenkins, a touchdown, a Ruff touchdown pass to Roland Sanders and a touchdown.

PHS was up 20-7 at the half after taking the lead on a Ruff touchdown pass to Ratcliff in the first quarter.

The Springfield school expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. The Vikings scored three times in the third, including once on a Jenkins touchdown run.

Ruff stood out for Parkview in the win. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

The Tigers' Warren Womack was the standout player for his team. The senior running back ran for one touchdown.



PHS got revenge for last year's 38-20 loss to Waynesville with the victory.

The loss was the third in a row for WHS. With the win the Vikings extended their winning streak to four games.

Parkview (4-0) will play a Ozarks game against Camdenton next week, while Waynesville (1-3) will take on Rolla also in a Ozarks game.
