Baseball Recap: Nease Panthers vs. Fletcher Senators
Nease was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fletcher Senators. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 10-5 to the Senators when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Jackson Garnecki was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Garnecki was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Garnecki wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Fletcher Reston, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Nease's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-8. As for Fletcher, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
Nease wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against Fleming Island on the 12th. As for Fletcher, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-8 win against Englewood on the 13th.
