Softball Recap: Hawkins Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hawkins duked it out with Como-Pickton on Monday. The Hawks lost 11-0 to the Eagles. Considering the last time the Hawks couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Hawkins saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alana Gipson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Hawkins and nudges their season record down to 11-10-1. As for Como-Pickton, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Hawkins didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Martins Mill on the 8th. As for Como-Pickton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-2 victory against Big Sandy on the 8th.
