Softball Recap: Pine River Area Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Pine River Area made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Manistee, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bucks never let the Chippewas get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Bucks, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Kylee Mumby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Mumby was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Lilly Felsk was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Tatum Edstrom was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Pine River Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Pine River Area pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Manistee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Pine River Area will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chippewas: the pair will be back at it again later today.
